Customize your program around your dreams and your schedule.
- Select a track based on your career goals: academic or professional.
- Academic: Designed for a transition into higher education.
- Professional: Designed to help you solve real-world problems in your current organization.
- Choose a concentration, or don’t. You 可以 pursue a general DBA, or you 可以 concentrate in Accounting and Finance, 管理, 健康care Leadership, or customize your own Professional Concentration.
- A new DBA cohort starts each fall. Students wanting a head-start 可以 begin concentration classes and/or any recommended pre-requisites in the spring prior.
- Pick your dissertation style: a traditional dissertation, a major research project report, or a series of research papers.
You don't have to miss a thing.
Classes meet one Friday and Saturday each month on JU's beautiful Florida riverside 校园. But if you 可以’t make it, we’ve got you covered. You 可以 stream the class 在线直播! If a work or personal emergency arises and you 可以’t join virtually either, you 可以 catch up on 一个类 or two by watching recordings. You never have to miss 一个类.

Three Program Phases
- In the first phase, students complete the “core” coursework
- 的 second phase is the comprehensive activity and oral presentation of dissertation 建议

Optional Post-研究生 Certificate in Business & 管理 Education
Students in the DBA program have the opportunity to gain a certificate related to business education. This program is offered in conjunction with the University of Surrey through the Surrey Business School’s Center for 管理 Education, a pioneering hub of research in the theory and practice of management education. 的 program consists of four 15-credit modules (60 credits total):
- Introduction to 管理 Education (MANM 408)
- 的oretical Foundations in 管理 Education (MANM409)
- 创新 & Leadership in 管理 Education (MANM410)
- 管理 Education in Practice (MANM411/DBA 780)
的 first 3 courses are offered online (8 weeks each) through the University of Surrey, starting in January; the capstone course is held at JU over the summer. 每一个学生 is allocated a personal learning coach who supports the student on a weekly basis. 的 cost of the certificate is $4500 and is not included in the base DBA program tuition. 学费 is paid to JU. 的 Davis College of Business & 技术 is now offering a Post-Baccalaureate to DBA option, which provides a viable accelerated pathway to the DBA for business professionals with a Bachelor's level degree.
- Students will complete their 12-credit concentration and any business prerequisites deemed necessary in the one to two semesters before beginning the doctoral portion 程序的.
- DBA students need to maintain a B grade or higher in each class, as well as an overall 3.33 GPA or higher before the commencement of the DBA portion 程序的.

And so, but I really am getting the most out of this program is that opportunity to network with these professors, to really learn what it is that they do each and everyday, and to become experts in the fields that I want to teach.
